Chocolate Fondue

February 13, 2020Brianna

Every Valentines day my little family does fondue for dinner. We also do it for our anniversary which is also New Year’s Eve. We always do both a chocolate and cheese version and it’s always a hit with everyone. We also try to invite people over when we do fondue other times of the year. It’s just a fun dinner. When we moved to Finland and didn’t have a fondue pot we bought each other them for Christmas. I promise you’re going to love this chocolate fondue!

Marshmallows

Rice Krispie treats cut into small squares

Instructions

In an electric fondue pot over medium low heat (see note for alternative option) add all the ingredients except the vanilla extract. Stir with a rubber spatula frequently till melted and combined. Add vanilla extract and stir again.

Notes

Since you’re adding milk and cream I don’t recommend using milk chocolate or it will be too sweet. But you can use all dark or all semi sweet if you prefer! I love doing all dark but my husband says it’s too dark so I typically use my recipe above and everyone is happy.

This is also delicious with a teaspoon of almond extract instead of vanilla.

You can also do this in a small sauce pan and move to a mini crockpot to keep warm after melted.
