Easy Apple Crisp
Apple crisp is a dessert everyone should have a recipe for because it’s so easy to make and everyone loves it. I suggest using dark brown sugar in this recipe because it gives a more caramely flavor than light brown sugar but you can do light brown if it’s what you have on hand!
If you’re looking for another crisp recipe you should try my browned butter, pear, and apple crisp.

4–4.5 pounds apples, peeled and chopped into 1/2-3/4 inch cubes. (I use a combo of different kinds of apples, sweet and tart)

1 tablespoon vanilla
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
Topping-
1 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, from fridge
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 F.
In a large mixing bowl add the apples, lemon juice, vanilla, dark brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Toss together till combined nicely.
Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish and pour the apples in.
In the bowl you used already, toss the dry ingredients together. With a pastry cutter, cut the butter into the ingredients till the butter is in small pieces.
Pour over the apples.
Bake for 45 minutes till apples are soft and topping is crisp. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
Serve with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
