No-Knead Artisan Bread (5 minutes of active prep!)
When I was visiting Utah back in February, my husband’s aunt brought this bread over during a family dinner. It was sooo good. I asked her for the recipe and I’ve made it 4 times since then. It’s the easiest bread I’ve ever made but at the same time the end result is super fancy and makes you feel like you’re really freaking awesome, which you are. If yeast breads scare you, there is no way you can screw this up so it’s the PERFECT recipe to make.

4 ingredients you already have at home, 5 minutes of prep, and a delicious loaf of bread!
- Prep Time: 5 minutes, plus 8+ hours of inactive time
- Cook Time: 40 minutes
- Total Time: 8 hours, 45 minutes
- Yield: 1 medium loaf of bread 1x
Ingredients
3 cups of all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons salt
½ teaspoon yeast
1 ½ cups warm water
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients using a large spoon. The dough will look shaggy but no need to knead or mix a long time. Just mix till the flour is all in the dough and not at the bottom of the bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for at least 8 hours, or up to around 30 hours. The longer it rests, the better it tastes.
Preheat oven to 450 F. Place a cast iron or oven safe pot in the oven (with the lid on) while it preheats.
Meanwhile, pour dough onto heavily floured counter and shape into a ball as best you can. It won’t be a totally perfect ball shape, but don’t fret too much.
Once oven is preheated, removed pot and drop the bread into the pot. I always put the bread ball onto a piece of parchment paper first and then drop the parchment paper with the dough into the pot.
Cover with lid and place in oven for 30 minutes. Remove lid and bake for 10-15 minutes longer till the crust is deep golden brown. Remove bread from oven and pot and place on a cooling rack to cool before cutting.
Notes
This is also delicious to add your favorite dried herbs to the dough when you first mix it together.

I’ve never made a fancy bread before and glad I started with this one. It was so easy but the finished result was super delicious and you couldn’t even tell it wasn’t bought from a fancy bakery. definitely will make again.
I love this no-knead bread. I make it about once a week. Super easy, super good.
SO good. I added Rosemary to mine and topped it with Amish Butter. I will definitely be making this again.
I have lost count of how many times I have made this bread. So easy but so so yummy! It usually only lasts 24 hours in my hours. I make it for my family but such a good and easy gift too! Cannot recommend enough.
