Coleslaw
I really like a good coleslaw. I feel like most of them aren’t all that great though. When we lived in South Carolina I had about 50% terrible ones and 50% good ones. I think this is a great one. I’ll be posting a BBQ chicken sandwich soon that this is delicious on.

Thinly sliced cabbage and cabbage with a delicious homemade coleslaw dressing.
- Prep Time: 15 minutes (+2 hours in fridge)
- Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes
- Yield: serves at least 12 sides
Ingredients
Coleslaw
7–8 cups finely chopped green cabbage
1 large carrot, grated (or about ½ cup match stick carrots)
Dressing-
½ cup mayo
¼ cup buttermilk
¼ cup cream
1/3 cup sugar
1 ½ tablespoons white vinegar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ tablespoon finely grated onion (resembles an onion puree)
Instructions
Add cabbage and carrot to a large mixing bowl and set aside.
In a small bowl combine the dressing ingredients and mix till well combined. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss to combine. Let sit in fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Notes
The perfect topper on a BBQ sandwich or as a side for any cookout.
