Teriyaki Sauce
Teriyaki Sauce is a recipe everyone should have in their wheelhouse. Homemade teriyaki sauce is so much better than from a bottle and it is actually super easy to make. We love to make chicken and veggie teriyaki bowls with this sauce. You can make this sauce and then put it on both sides of chicken before baking it on a baking sheet for an even better teriyaki bowl. If you’re not planning to make chicken with the sauce then I may recommend halving the recipe or you will have a lot of teriyaki sauce.

1/8 teaspoon ground ginger powder
1 clove garlic, minced
3 ½ tablespoons corn starch + 1/3 cup water
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
In a small or medium sauce pan, combine the honey, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, ginger powder and minced garlic. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking frequently.
In a small bowl, combine the corn starch and water till mixed.
Pour the cornstarch mixture into the sauce pan and whisk till it thickens. Remove from heat and add sesame seeds. Serve over rice, veggies, and chicken.
Notes
If you’re using some of this sauce to put on your chicken before cooking then make a full recipe, if you’re using cooked chicken from a rotisserie chicken, or cooking chicken without the sauce, I’d recommend halving the recipe.

I can’t believe I’ve never made teriyaki sauce before. So easy and tastes just like I got it from a Hawaiian restaurant. Pretty sure I’ll be making this a lot this summer.
