Green Onion Cheeseball

January 31, 2020Brianna

I fell in love with cheeseballs when I worked at Harmons Grocery Store all through high school. They make delicious cheeseballs and I’d taste them every time they had samples. But they were ridiculously expensive so it was a rare occurrence to buy one. This green onion cheeseball is just as good as a Harmons one.

Green Onion Cheeseball

Delicious cheeseball with green onions and plenty of flavor.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 3 large, 4 small 1x

32 oz cream cheese, softened (4 bricks)

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder

1 ½ teaspoons dried parsley

½ teaspoon oregano

16 oz shredded cheddar cheese, small grated (about 2 cups)

1/3 cup sliced green onions, white and pale green parts

About ¾ cup sliced almonds, for rolling the cheeseballs in

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment or in a large mixing bowl with a handheld mixer whip the cream cheese till creamy and smooth. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, dried parsley, and oregano and mix to combined. Sprinkle in the shredded cheese and green onions and mix till combined. Put mixture in the fridge for at least half so it gets a bit easier to form into balls. Pour sliced almonds in a bowl. In your hands form the cheeseball mixture into balls and then roll in the sliced almonds to coat. Store in an airtight container for up to about a week.
